Draft Gmail Replies to Incoming Emails

Check each incoming Gmail message, decide whether it needs a reply, and save an AI-written draft in the thread.

The Problem

Writing routine replies eats the day, but letting AI send email on its own is risky. Most people want a head start, not an automatic sender.

How This Template Solves It

A founder connects their inbox. When an email arrives, the AI first decides whether it needs a response. If it does, it writes a reply and saves it as a draft in the same conversation, ready to edit and send.

How It Works

  1. 1A Gmail trigger picks up new messages.
  2. 2An AI chain assesses whether the message needs a reply.
  3. 3If it does, a second AI chain writes a reply from the subject and message.
  4. 4The reply is saved as a Gmail draft in the conversation.

What You Need

  • A Gmail account
  • An OpenAI API key

What Stays Under Your Control

  • Nothing is sent. You review and send every draft.

Watch Out For

  • Add your tone and key business facts to the reply prompt, or drafts will read as generic.
